Fucking Our Way To Extinction: A Personal View of the Human Plague

70%, I can live with the smell... As a race, human beings are staring down the throat of a major problem: self annihilation. We stand at a population of over 5 billion people today, an that number is expected to be over 10 billion by the year 2010. Without modern technology we couldn't grow, process, and distribute food to our societies. Starvation is already a fact of life to millions of people in the world today, and is soon going to be a fact of life millions more. And not only is the human race suffering from this overpopulation problem, but all other species of life, as well as the system on which we all coexist. Mass death of the human race is in truth the only hope we have.

The third world is the main contributor to this population problem, and that fact rules out birth control as a viable option. Starving people in the third world don't give a fuck about birth control. Making babies is one of the only pleasures these poor sods have. Take that away by force, and they will rebel. Even in the western world, the lower classes continue to breed like maggots in a bloated corpse. No human has the right to force these people to stop breeding. And no human has the right to step in and bring about an artificial means of population control (i.e., war, fascism, etc...). So, the population grows, and grows, and grows...

The technologies I mentioned earlier that are seemingly the saviors of the modern human race are destroying the water, soil, and air that we all must have to survive. So, in order to feed the masses of human debris on the planet already, we in turn destroy the very things that support said life. It has to be the worst oxymoron in the history of our race, and the system that supports it. Giving up the technologies that are poisoning this wonderful system that we all live within, means that we simply don't feed our peoples. You can't eat your cake and have it too...

So here we are at the verge of overpopulation, death by chemicals in the environment in which we live, and no way to easily rid ourselves of these problems. Sure we can slow the decline by giving up the comforts that we in the western world have grown to love, but that would just be delaying the inevitable, and I admit my selfishness and will not give up my comfort factor for the benefit of some starving sod in Asia, Africa, or anywhere else for that matter. With all this being true, what hope do we have? The sudden (and hopefully painful) death of 70% of the people on the face of the planet earth. Why 70%? The ensuing chaos that would result from this type of mass death would eventually lead to the death of probably 50% of the survivors. 15% of today's population would be a number set that could easily live a life of plenty on this planet and would also give said planet a chance to heal after thousands of years of abuse by the parasite that is man. Enough materials would be left behind so that those that continue the use of language could look at our demise, and with luck prevent such a massive population and environmental fuck-up from reoccurring. The survival of the human race on this planetary system is the concern here, and this is a surefire way to see to it that humans truly have a future.

Plague is the most likely candidate to control the human parasite, and Ebola and his friends may well end up saving our race. But not until they have caused the suffering of billions of human scum. We have no right to rape our system or our own race as we have done, but we have no means of fixing the problem. I've no love for my race. It seems to me that a race worthy of dignity and prosperity would have seen this shit coming and would have stopped fucking like rabbits long ago. But the stupid always take the path of least resistance, and it is a stupid race of selfish beings to which I am a part. Societies owe me nothing, and I owe them even less. It sometimes seems a shame that the Black Death was finally overcome due to man's "intelligence". Hopefully soon something else will come along and kill off (randomly) 70% of the scum we call human beings.

And if it does turn out to be a man made disaster that brings this random destruction to our race, I hope I live through it. That way I can stand downwind from any major population center, inhale as deeply as my tobacco scarred lungs will allow, and savor the smell of rot and decay that was once the human race. Yeah, 70%, I can live with the smell...
